INFORMATION OF A TRIATHLON


A triathlon is a Swim - Bike - Run. There are four different types of distances; Sprint - Olympic - 1/2 Ironman - Full Ironman. Look below for exact distances.


HERE ARE THE DISTANCES:

S = swim 

B= bike

R= Run                                             

Sprint: S = .5 miles B = 13 miles R = 3.2 miles

Olympic: S = .93 miles B = 24.8 miles R = 6.2 miles

1/2 Ironman: S = 1.2 miles B = 56 miles R = 13.1 miles

Full Ironman: S = 2.4 miles B = 112 miles R = 26.2 miles (full marathon)


TRIATHLON TRAINING PROGRAM

This training program is for anyone who wants to start training for their first or second or even a third triathlon. We got permission to post someones training program to help all new triathletes around the globe.

MONDAYS, WEDNESDAYS, AND FRIDAYS

swim 1 hour / bike 3 hours

TUESDAYS, THURSDAYS, AND SATURDAYS

  bike 4 - 6 hours / run 2 hours

SUNDAYS - run through your triathlon. Swim - Bike - Run. What ever triathlon distance you are doing, run through it. Also Practice Transitons. Look below for that kind of info movie for you.

TIP: get to know your routes. If you know your route, you'll have an advantage over some people. You'll know where the tough parts of the race is and you will not waste any extra energy by knowing the course. If you swim in a lake or the ocean you practice in the lake or the ocean. Same thing with the bike and the Run. Get to know your routes.
